Prices of pulses and dal have come down

The prices of pulses and dhal have come down because of very good harvest in the Northern India. Similarly the prices of the sugar have also come down.
Last year, throughout the country, the prices of Toor Dhal were sold for Rs 200 per kilo. The Central Government in order to control the prices started importing pulses from foreign countries. Tamil Nadu demanded extra of the pulses imported and sold in the retail outlets for Rs 110 per kilo. At the same time, the prices in the groceries shops were higher.
At this juncture, due to good monsoon, prices of pulses have come down by 15 percent.
Last week 100 kilo Toor Dhal was sold for Rs 14000. Now it is being sold for Rs 12000. The price of whole Toor has declined from Rs 150 /kg to Rs 130/kg
President of Tamil Nadu Grocery Traders Union, S P Soruban while speaking about this said: This year after the harvest new Toor dhal will arrive in the markets. The prices of the dhal will come still come down. At the same time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his recent tour in Africa has signed a dhal import agreement. Since the Tamil Nadu is getting additional supply, a load of dhal will come down by Rs 2000.
Urad Dhal which was sold for Rs 15,000 during last week has come down by Rs 13400. 1 kg of Ural Dhal which was sold for Rs 160 is now being sold for Rs 140. Moong dhal which was sold for Rs 110 is now come down to Rs 80. Gram Dhal which was sold for rs 80 per kilo is now being sold for Rs 110. 100 kilo sugar bag which was sold for Rs 4150 is now being sold for Rs 4030. I kg sugar which was sold for Rs 43 is now being sold for Rs 41.
