After the irksome stoppage of bus services between Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus (CMBT) and Bengaluru, the passengers relaxed and heaved a sigh as the services resumed. The bus operations continued as usual. Bus services to Bengaluru was stopped by all STC and private operators the reason being the commotion raised due to Cauvery water dispute.

A State Express Transport Corporation (SETC) senior official affirmed resuming of these services between CMBT and Bengaluru. He added that nearly 145 buses flying between the cities have continued operations.

It is to be noted that these services are now resumed following a four day stoppage where all the SETC buses were held at Hosur, the state border. The official also hinted that there were less number of passengers who booked tickets from CMBT to Bengaluru though.

On Sunday, private bus operations to Bengaluru were also resumed by the private omni bus operators. The President of Tamil Nadu Omni Bus Owners Association (TNOBA), A. Afzal also confirmed the same. There are about 80 buses between Chennai and Bengaluru all of which fly double trips.

The tension between Chennai and Karnataka has however not affected Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation buses from Bengaluru to Chennai except Friday when there was Bandh in Karnataka.
