Foamy sand spews out from a hole in the busy Anna Salai

In the all-important and busy Anna Salai in Chennai, foamy sand suddenly spewed out from an underground hole near Spencer Plaza. There was an immediate sudden panic and sensation among the crowd.
A part of the Anna Salai was covered with the sand which spewed out and spread across the road. The public -- pedestrians as well as the vehicle drivers - panicked immediately on seeing this.
It is worth noting that Chennai Metro Rail construction work is in progress in this area.
Alerted Metro officials visited the spot and started repairing activity.
