Tamil Nadu chief electoral officer Rajesh Lakhoni on Tuesday said that the candidates who had earlier filed the nominations for the state assembly elections at Aravakurichi and Thanjavur constituencies have not been debarred from contesting the forthcoming elections.
Tamil Nadu chief electoral officer Rajesh Lakhoni in a statement has mentioned: The Election Commission countermanded the poll in Aravakurichi along with that in Thanjavur constituency in the wake allegations of corrupt practices by the parties. The elections were postponed. The Election Commission on Monday announced that election would be held in Thanjavur and Aravakurichi along with the by-election in Tirupparankundram constituency on November 19. Candidates who had earlier filed the nominations for the state assembly elections at Aravakurichi and Thanjavur constituencies have not been debarred from contesting.
