The first few legs of Monsoon 2017 have been good enough for the residents of Bengaluru. Rain Gods have been resulting in good showers throughout the Monsoon season. In fact, there have been months when the city of Bengaluru has even received way more rains than the monthly mean.
However, the last few days of September have not resulted in a lot of rains and the Garden City of India has only been recording light rains. In fact, since September 16, the city has remained almost dry with very little rain on a few occasions.
It seems like rain gods wanted to bring in some rainy surprise for the residents of Bengaluru as the last 24 hours were quite rainy enough for the city. In fact, many parts of the city did witness a few heavy spells of rain.
In a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, the city observatory of Bengaluru recorded a whopping 54 mm of rainfall. These rains have resulted in pleasant weather conditions across the state.
The reason for these rains can be attributed to the presence of a trough in proximity of Bengaluru which has been running up to the extreme southern parts of the country.
As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, good rains of moderate to heavy intensity will continue over Bengaluru during the next 24 to 48 hours.
