Tamil Nadu government to give Amma Scooter to one lakh women soon

The news that has come out is for one lakh working women in the state of Tamil Nadu, the government has planned to give ‘ Amma Scooters’ at Rs 25000 subsidy so that these women would be benefited.
It is important to mention that not only working women belonging to the private and government but also those women working in small shops would also get benefit now. It must not be forgotten that during the 2016 assembly elections it was said that for the sake of working women two wheelers would be given.
When Mr E. Palaniswamy took over as the chief minister of Tamil Nadu in the month of February in 2017 he spoke about ‘Amma two wheeler’ project that would be implemented for the sake of working women. The chief minister said that Rs 200 crores would be spent on this project for one lakh working women and he also signed an agreement also regarding this two wheeler project last year.
It is now said that this scheme would be launched on the birthday of former chief minister Dr. J. Jayalalitha on the 24th of February 2018.
Starting from today till 5th of February applications from the working women would be received by the districts and the applications would be evaluated on 10th February. Final one lakh working women who would be receiving two wheelers would be selected on 15th February. Rs 25,000 or 50 percent whichever is low would be given as subsidy during the purchase of two wheelers.
It is now clear that those working women must reside in the state of TN and must have their age between 18 and 40. They must processes a valid driving license plus their annual income must be minimum of Rs 2.5 lakhs.
Preference would be given to those women living without their husbands, differently abled women, women belonging to adi-dravidas etc
