Two universities from Tamil Nadu find a place in the Asia University Rankings 2018

Students and parents always give preference to those educational institutes that are very popular and those that are in the top of the rankings are well known.

The news is two universities in the state of TN have found a place in the list of Asia University Rankings for 2018 and we belonging to the state of TN and India must feel proud and happy regarding this.

It must be noted that Coimbatore based Tamil Nadu Agricultural University or TNAU and PSG College of Technology are the two such universities that have grabbed the attention of many now as these universities have found a place in the Asia University list under noteworthy category.

Dr Ramaswamy who is the vice-chancellor of TNAU Coimbatore expressed his thoughts and said in the ‘Overall’ and in the ’Universities’ categories TNAU has got 28th place and 17th place respectively. The above rankings were given by NIRF or National institutional Ranking Framework of MHRD, Government of India or GOI.

According to the QS World rankings 2018, TNAU is ranked 105 among the BRICS nations comprising of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. It is now revealed that many stage by stage developments took place in this TNAU in the last four years.

It is really superb to mention that the curriculum was modified as per the industry standards plus there has been improvement in the external funding for this TNAU.

One important piece of information is as many as 480 students cleared the NET or National Eligibility Test and it must be noted that as many as 1100 students attempted this NET. The selected students are now qualified as JRF or Junior Research Fellowship and that is fantastic.

In the year 2017 Coimbatore based PSC College of Technology became cynosure of many eyes as it was ranked 13 by India Today magazine and another magazine ‘Outlook India’ ranked this college at 17th position is known. In the year 2017 this PSG College of Technology was ranked 33 by the National Institutional Ranking Framework.

Mr Gopalakrishnan who is the managing trustee of PSG Institutions spoke about how his college had tied up with many Indian and international based companies and how research centres have been set up to carry out research activities by the students.

Parameters such as teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook were considered by Asia University Rankings 2018 and more than 350 universities from as many as 25 countries were ranked as per the above mentioned parameters.
