Natarajan Chandrasekaran, the First Non-Parsi Chairman of Tata Sons

Natarajan Chandrasekaran was born in the year 1963 at Mohanur located in Namakkal District, Tamil Nadu. Natarajan joined the Coimbatore Institute of Technology for the bachelor’s degree in Applied Science. Then he completed his master’s degree in Computer Applications (MCA) at Regional Engineering College, Trichy.

Natarajan Chandrasekaran joined TCS in the year 1987 and then rose to the position of senior members among the technological and managerial departments. In 2009 he was announced as a CEO of TCS after working in the positions of COO and Executive Director. During the time he was the youngest CEO in the Tata Sons.

Natarajan Chandrasekaran is an active member of Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) and Computer Societies of India and England. Natarajan was nominated for the chairman post of IT sector in NASSCOM in the year 2012.

In January 2017 Natarajan was selected as the next chairman for Tata Sons and then followed by heading the Tata Global Beverages also. Natarajan has the special crown of being a Non-Parsi to head the Tata Group.

Natarajan’s personal interest lies in Music, Photography and especially Long Running. He participates in many long run marathons all over the world organized by TCS and completed many successful records of running.
