9th Standard student gets National Award

Acts of bravery and selflessness do not go unrecognized. This recognition has come in no lesser form that a National Award to Erode boy, Suganthan.
Suganthan, from Modakurichi in Erode district, is a Class 9 student. On April 13th, 2012, the village was celebrating the onset of the Tamil New Years’ Day at the Natteswara temple when Suganthan noticed 16-year old Krithika fall into the river Cauvery. He immediately jumped in and rescued her. The National Award will be given to him on Republic Day at New Delhi.
