Snakes released in river basin

It is suspected that miscreants who were driving a Bolero with a Puducherry registration plate released more than 100 snakes into the Palar river basin on Saturday night.
Villagers from Ayambakkam in Kancheepuram district was shocked to find that many cobras, rat snakes and kraits in the area. Around 20 snakes were rescued and sent to the Madras Crocodile Bank.
