Long pending construction of connecting Poonamallee High Road (NH4) with Koyambedu wholesale market complex/ A road will be revived again said the sources of bodies governing the whole proposed project. The plan was shelved for many years owing to the reason of land acquisition. Now the latest updates confirms the orderliness and resolving of all the issues between the proposed 80 feet road and the land planned for the construction.

Chennai Metro explained the plan to link the A road with Poonamallee High road link that will most probably ease out the congestion of market road with lots of private and government buses turning over to the main roads connecting the locality. Earlier it was planned around 2013 after the closure of Koyambedu wholesale market complexes F and G road. Now the Chennai metro rail depot replaced the 30 hectares land of Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority.

A land acquisition at a cost of Rs 34 crore was sanctioned as per the governmental order for the extension of ‘A’ road to reduce the big congestion that is very common daily alongside the link road with Koyambedu Market.

The sources confirms the initial discussion and plans to revive the whole project again for avoiding the market road congestion. Many residents of the locality are also showing the sign of relief with the reviving of the old project that will very much reduce the overall commotion in the place.
