Karunanidhi asks mischief makers to stop

Appealing to the Tamil public to support the TESO strike on March 12th, DMK chief M. Karunanidhi slammed critics who have been criticizing the revival of the organization. The TESO (Tamil Eelam Supporters Organisation) has announced the general strike to urge the Centre to support the US-led resolution in the UN against Sri Lankan war crimes.
Writing in the magazine Murosoli, Mr. Karunanidhi said, ‘Some people are saying that we did not show that much eagerness for the Tamils cause when the war was going on in 2009... Whether anybody believes it or not, I have acted as per my conscience on the Sri Lankan Tamils issue. The Indian government had believed what the Sri Lankan government said and on that basis, I had ended the fast (the fast-unto-death in 2011 in support of Sri Lankan Tamils). Even the US had believed and had welcomed that.’
