Important details about vitamin E and various vitamin E rich foods

It must be noted that vitamin E is a group of 8 fat soluble compounds and it has got many forms. One such form is alpha-tocopherol whose main work is to hunt down free radicals in the body. It is worthy to note that an adult must consume 7 to 15 mg of vitamin E in a day.

Health benefits of vitamin E are

It lowers the risk of getting heart diseases, good for the eye health as age related ,macular degeneration are avoided, improvement in cognitive function etc.

By intake of these foods, we could get vitamin E in us.

Consumption of wheat germ oil:
One of the best dietary sources of vitamin E is this wheat germ oil (extracted from the germ of the wheat kernel). Hence intake of this oil is important.

Consumption of almonds:
They belong to the family named ‘Rosaceae’ is known. These almonds are highly nutritious and provide us many health benefits. It is believed that by consuming almonds we could get vitamin E.

Consumption of avocado:
Mostly found in south central Mexico, avocado belongs to the family termed ‘Lauraceae’. Information is the fruit of avocado is a large berry having single seed. Rich in vitamin E and other nutrients, intake of avocado does superbly for the health.  

Consumption of sunflower seeds:
It must be noted that sunflower seeds are rich in mono saturated and poly-saturated fats. It is brought out that 100 g of this sunflower seed has 35.7 mg of vitamin E in it.
