In Chennai, water treatment to be made eco-friendly

On Friday, 14th February 2020, The Park hotel in Chennai witnessed the flagging off a joint venture.

This joint venture was between Environest Global (Chennai based start-up) and USA based firm Biopipe Global. The main aim of this association was to work on water management in Chennai city.  Mr Tanmay Pawale, country head, Biopipe Global, spoke about the volumes that could be achieved in India as there was a necessity of water management.

He highlighted the importance of good support from the government for such type of projects through Swachh Bharat Mission and initiatives by the ministry of Jal Shakti.

Environest Global is a firm that was started 5 years back for the purpose of treating the sewage water by eco-friendly methods and make the water re-usable for consumption. Mr Senthil Kumar is the person who is responsible for the launch and growth of this Chennai based firm. He spoke about how at the beginning he did not receive any support.

He added that at present the things have changed and was confident about achieving success by his technology. Point is his technology does not involve any chemicals and it could be set up on the terrace also. Rainwater harvesting or RWH is being given importance now. It is worthy to mention that this RWH would be for storing water as well as for making it potable.

Recycling of water from the industries would be carried out. It was mentioned by Mr Senthil Kumar that his firm was having plans to process water for the Indian railways.
