Tamil Nadu State Election Commission releases guideline for preparing the final voters list!

Tamil Nadu State Election Commission has released the detailed guidelines for preparing the voters’ list for the ensuing local elections.  

Local elections were conducted in 27 districts of Tamil Nadu in 2 phases. The final voters’ list for the urban administration circle was released on 6th March.

Presently, the Election Commission has released the guidelines for preparing the final voters’ list.

The final voters’ list for the urban local administration election has to be prepared based on the final voters’ list released by the Election Commission.

The 1st part has to be noted as ‘Tamil Nadu Local Administration Voters’ List -2020’. Details such as the name of the district, the name of the ruling local administration, Ward number, Part number, the code number of the urban local administration, the polling booth number, name of the polling booth, type of polling booth, the details of the streets under this ward, starting serial number, ending serial number and the number of voters must all be entered. The name of the polling booth, the address, the front of the building, the front of the polling booth, and floor-map are tall o be attached.

The name of the voter, photograph, voter ID number, name of husband or father, house number, age and gender have to be entered. Each page must contain details of 30 voters.

Finally, the Voter Registration Officer has to certify that no voter in the 2020 voters’ list has been left out. 100 copies each voters’ list must be made readily available in order for use by various agencies such as office use, public, political parties, to be issued to the contestants, etc.

The Tamil Nadu State Election Commission has ordered that this voters’ list must be released in the presence of political party leaders on 20th March. Accordingly, the dates for urban local administration election are to be announced during the 3rd week of March and it is expected that the local elections will be conducted before end May.

5 District Election Officers

Tamil Nadu State Election Commission has also ordered that the Executive Officers and urban administration collectors must be appointed as Conducting officers for this election in the 5 newly formed districts of Kallakurichi, Chigngleput, Thenkasi, Ranipettai, and Tirupathur.
