The University Grants Commission (UGC) has announced that it is mandatory for the universities/higher academic institutions which offer online academic courses must have secured a place in the National Merit List.
As per the new guidelines released by UGC, the universities or the higher academic institutions MUST have scored 3.26 marks OR must be in the top 100 ranks as listed by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
In a similar vein, for the initiations which had commenced online courses without prior permission from UGC as introduced recently, in order to get the approval, these higher academic institutions MUST offer at least graduation courses in 3 subjects and postgraduate courses in 10 subjects.
