New COVID cases in Chennai have come down drastically now- Fresh cases below 500 after 8 months

It took more than 8 months of time for this to happen in the state of Tamil Nadu!!
The news that has come out now is that the number of fresh or new Covid-19 cases reported in TN everyday has gone below 500 and this after more than 8 months ever since the cases started.
On Thursday, TN reported 494 new cases. It is important to note that the last time when the number of fresh cases was below 500 was on 16th of May 2020.On Thursday, Chennai city did not have even a single death due to Covid-19 infection and this has caught the attention of many.
There were 149 fresh cases in Chennai, 58 new cases in Coimbatore district, 29 in Tiruvallur district, 29 new cases in Chengalpet district. Other districts like Perambalur, Villupuram and Virudhu Nagar did not have any fresh cases yesterday. Truth is that till now the total number of Coronavirus cases in TN stands at 840340. Information is that as many as517 persons got discharged and currently there are just 4487 active cases in TN. On Thursday, 12494 doses of vaccine were administered. This includes 12285 doses of Covishield and 209 doses of Covaxin. In TN, till now, 145650 doses of vaccine have been administered.
