Presently, 100% lockdown conditions are prevailing in the State of Tamil Nadu as a preventive measure against the raging resurgent coronavirus pandemic!
As such, schools & colleges remain closed!
For the students up to the 11th Standard (+1), ‘All Pass’ has been given without any examinations being conducted! It is proposed to conduct the Public Examinations for the +2 students.
In the above scenario, the New Academic Year commences today (Tuesday, 1st June), As such, a situation has arisen when classes have to be commenced for the students promoted to the next class.
When the last academic year commenced, online classes commenced as planned though lockdown was under imposition,
However, no guidelines have been given so far to the District Education Officers and the School Principals/Headmasters regarding the activities to be undertaken on the commencement of the new academic year!
In this situation, in a notification released by the Director of the Primary Education, it is mentioned:
“All students from 1st Standard to 8th Standard is declared as passed! No students MUST BE RETAINED IN THE SAME CLASS! No children (students) must be allowed to leave schools.
Due to the prevalent raging resurgent coronavirus pandemic, 100% lockdown imposition is being observed in the State of Tamil Nadu. As such, once the 100% lockdown imposition concludes, an announcement will be released regarding the reopening of schools.
Further, announcements will also be made regarding the distribution of free textbooks/notebooks and other student welfare schemes after the reopening of schools.”
