Alert: SBI account will get closed failing to do this!

The country’s premier public sector bank, the State Bank of India (SBI) has emphasised that the Aadhar card MUST be linked with PAN card before 30th September!

SBI has warned that in case failing to link Aadhar with PAN, the PAN card will be rendered invalid!

SBI has released a tweet on ties official Twitter page regarding this. It is mentioned:

“It is MANDATORY to link Aadhar card with PAN card! In case of failure to do this before 30th September, PAN card will be rendered invalid and certain financial transactions could not be done!

As per Income Tax Act 1961, Section 139AA, the citizen holding a PAN card MUST submit their Aadhar card details to the Income Tax Department. In case of failure to link Aadhar with PAN card, the PAN card will be rendered INVALID!

Procedure to link the Bank Savings Account with PAN card

  • Visit SBI’s official website for services: www.omlinesbi.com
  • Login and enter the profile and click the option ‘My Account’ under the ‘PAN Registration’.
  • Enter the Account number on the new page and enter the PAN number and submit.
  • Your request will be sent to the concerned branch. this application will be accepted within 7 days of applying.
  • In case you do not have Internet banking service, you can still fo it by using the ATM card.
  • Otherwise, make a personal visit to the SBI Branch and submit a copy of the PAN card and fill up the application and submit.
  • After the requisite verifications, the Aadhar card will be linked to the PAN card. As per this, an SMS will be sent to the given cell phone number regarding this!
