Who doesn’t like to have a new spacious home?
It is now said that in the next 3 months new home purchase would be done 80percent of the prospective home buyers. A survey study was conducted by a real estate research firm Jones Lang Laselle with Roof and Floor.
It has been brought to light by the survey that 80% of the prospective buyers would be buying new homes within the next 3 months. The title of the survey was ‘Homebuyer preference Study 2021: Covid 19 impact’’. Point to be noted is that 80% of the homebuyers prefer homes in the sub Rs 75 lakhs only. The thinking of the home buyers hasn’t changed much in the Coronavirus pandemic. The major objective of the prospective home buyers was to have larger homes with the same budget. For this dual purpose, the buyers are also interested in relocating to suburban or peripheral markets.
It was found out that the buyers belonging to Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Delhi NCR regions etc were interested in buying 3 BHK homes. The buyers want to have additional rooms for work from home and study from home purposes now.
The prospective buyers prefer localities in Chennai like GST Road, Adambakkam, Nanganallur, Navalur, Chromepet, Medavakkam plus western suburbs like Ambattur, Mogappair, Avadi, Porur etc.
The residential market would be back on the recovery path as 80% of prospective buyers would be buying properties in the next 3 months. It was pointed out by Mr. Siva Krishnan, MD, residential services, India, Jones Lang Lasalle that this year 2021 would be finishing on an optimistic note due to the buyers.
The pent up demand and the presence of affordable synergy in the market were responsible for the increase in the residential sales post unlock 1.0 in 2020.This was according to Mr. Sriram Krishnaswamy, COO, RoofandFloor.
