The coronavirus infection pandemic has now been brought under control in Tamil Nadu. The Tamil Nadu government took many efforts to bring the infection down now. It is known that in the middle of January the third Coronavirus infection wave reached its peak with many daily cases. The night curfew plus total lockdown on Sundays has been highly successful in controlling the spread of the Coronavirus infection. The number of daily or fresh cases has reduced in Tamil Nadu. The schools have resumed from 1st of February and the direct physical classes have been going well.
In the academic year 2019-20, the students of class 11 and 12 wrote public examinations but the students of class 10 were given all passes by the government. The Coronavirus pandemic was high at that time. In the academic year 2020-21, no public examinations took place and the students belonging to classes 10 to `12 were given all passes. This was mainly due to the fact that the Coronavirus infection was at the peak.
On 9th February 2022, the students belonging to classes 10 and 12 wrote revision exams. On 28th March a second revision examination would take place for these students.
The school education department has decided to hold a meeting with the chief minister of Tamil Nadu Mr. M.K. Stalin to discuss conducting public examinations for the students studying in the classes 10 and 12. The examination schedule would also be released soon. It was decided to start the public exams on 25th April 2022. Point to be noted is that consultation would be carried out regarding conducting public examinations for the class 11 students who were given all passes without writing class 10 public examinations. It must be noted that on 26th April the second model exam for the CBSE public examinations would also be completed.
