Chennai experienced pleasant weather on Wednesday with Nungambakkam recording a maximum temperature of 31.4 degrees Celsius and Meenambakkam recording 31.3 degrees Celsius. Showers were also experienced across the city. 14.1 mm of rainfall was received by Chembarabakkam and Nungambakkam while Meenambakkam received 2.8 mm.
‘The continual formation of a weak, low pressure area over the head of the Bay of Bengal this month is bringing regular showers to the State’s northern districts, particularly to Chennai and its neighbourhood… Nungambakkam and Meenambakkam have so far registered 137 mm and 146 mm of rainfall this month against the normal rainfall of 100 mm. This is much more than the amount of rainfall recorded last July’, said officials of the Regional Meteorological Centre.
