We all want our hard work to get recognised and would feel great that it is done!!
Usually, when a new facility gets inaugurated then it would be done by some guests and there would be a big ceremony etc. In Chennai based Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital or GH, 4 lifts were inaugurated by the hospital`s own workers. It was a pleasant surprise for the lift operator and housekeeping staff when they were asked to inaugurate the lifts at GH. Their work at the hospital has been recognised now.
The 45 year old Zeenath Bee engaged by a private firm as housekeeper at GH spoke her heart out. She mentioned that she has been working at GH for the last 4 years. Point is that she cleans outer places and public toilets. She concluded that she was totally surprised when she was asked to inaugurate the new lifts at the general hospital. At Tower 1 and 2, a lift mechanic, lift operator and a patient`s attendant inaugurated other lifts.
As many as 18 new lifts would be installed at the hospital and work has been going on. This was as per the Dean of GH Dr. E. Theranirajan. An amount of Rs 7.5 crores would be spent on this.
