Alert! Prospects for 5 days of heavy rain in Tamil Nadu!!

The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has informed that there would be persistent rain for 5 days in Tamil Nadu due to the cyclonic format prevailing in the upper layers of the atmosphere over the south Bay of Bengal.

In a notification released by the Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre in this regard, it is mentioned:

7th October: 
There are prospects for mild to medium rain with lightning and thunder in a few places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikkal. .  There are prospects for heavy rain in a few places in Thiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Ranippettai, Vellore, Thirupathur, Thiruvannamalai, Kallakkurichi, Villupuram, Cuddalore, and Puducherry.

8th October: 
There are prospects for widespread mild to medium rain with lightning and thunder in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikkal. There are prospects for heavy rain in a few places in Thiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Ranippettai, Vellore, Thirupathur, Thiruvannamalai, Kallakkurichi, Kanchipuram, Ranippettai, Vellore, Thirupathur,  Thiruvannamalai, Kallakkurichi, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Nagappattinam, Mayiladuthurai, Pudhukkottai, Trichy, Sivagangai, Perambalur, Ariyalur, Salem, Namakkal, Erode, Nilgiri, Coimbatore, and Puducherry, and Karaikkal.

9th October: 
There are prospects for widespread mild to medium rain with lightning and thunder in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikkal. There are prospects for heavy rain in a few places in Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram, Ranippettai, Vellore, Thirupathur, Thiruvannamalai, Kallakkurichi, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Thanjavur, Thiruvallur, Nagappattinam, Mayiladuthurai, Pudhukkottai, Trichy, Sivagangai, Perambalur, Ariyalur, Salem, Namakkal, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Erode, Nilgiri, Coimbatore, and Pudhuchery and Karaikkal,

As regards the Chennai Metro City, the sky will remain somewhat cloudy for the next 47 hours. These are prospects for medium rain with lightning and thunder in a few parts of the city.

Warning for fishermen:
There are prospects for high-sped winds at 40-50 kmph and intermittently at 60 kmph blowing across Kanyakumari Ocean areas, Bay of Mannar, and the adjacent south Tamil Nadu coastal areas and the Southwest Bay of Bengal adjav=cent to South Sri Lanka.
