3,352.77 Metric Tons of organic fertilisers from garbage collected by Greater Chennai Corporation

All the bio-degradable waste materials collected from the 15 Zones of the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) are transported to GCC`s micro fertiliser manufacturing centres and natural organic fertilisers are produced there! To distribute these organic fertilisers, are sold through TANFED (Tamil Nadu Cooperative Marketing Federation).
As such, from 16th September to 7th October, 23.09 Metric Tons were sold to the public and 55.65 Metric Tons were sold to TANFED.
Greater Chennai Corporation earned Rs. 316620 through thises sales of organic fertilisers!
Further, to distribute these to agriculturists through TANFED at Rs. 3/- per kg, bags of 50 kg are being given.
Accordingly, as of 7th October 2022. 607,80 Metric Tons of organic fertilisers have been sold at Rs. 1823400/-
Further, 128.57 Metric Tons of organic fertilisers have been used in the parks owned by Greater Chennai Corporation and other central parks.
Greater Chennai Corporation has a stock of 3352.77 Metric Tons of fertilisers Agriculturists are welcome to approach GCC directly and procure the organic fertilisers at a relatively lower price!
Further, citizens, those who have nursery gardens, and those who need organic fertilisers are advised to approach Greater Chennai Corporation and procure the required organic fertilisers at the cheapest price!
