One life changing diagnosis that would leave a person shattered is when the person is diagnosed with a tumour. Brain tumours are deadly and could cause death to a person. When abnormal cells form inside the brain, the brain tumour would occur. The tumours could be either malignant or cancerous and benign or non-cancerous.

There are several risk factors associated with brain tumours and we must try to avoid these to be free from getting tumours in us. Tee factors are

Excessive use of mobile phones:

It has been mentioned that continuous prolonged use of mobile phones could lead to brain tumours etc. The heat produced by excessive use of mobile phones and radiation etc could lead to brain tumours. It would be superb to use a hands free device or speaker phone whenever possible.

Exposure to chemicals:

There is more of a risk of tumours in us when we get exposed to chemicals like pesticides, solvents etc present in the industries. Hence, those who work in the industries have more risk of getting tumours etc than others. By wearing protective clothing and using appropriate ventilation systems , we could limit our exposure to chemicals etc.

Diet and lifestyle:

It is also possible to get brain tumours when we follow a certain diet and lifestyle etc. We must avoid consuming a diet that is rich in saturated fats and low in fruits and vegetables etc. Overweight, smoking and absence of exercises etc could result in cancers. Therefore, it is essential that we must follow certain lifestyle like eating proper food, exercising well etc

Hormonal factor:

Not many of us would associate hormonal changes to brain tumours but it is true.Some times, a woman might have taken hormonal replacement therapy or HRT and she might develop brain tumours. In the same way, men who have undergone testosterone replacement therapy would also get brain tumours etc.

Age and gender:

Men and older adults would have more chances of getting brain tumours when compared to women and younger persons. Truth is that age and gender cannot be controlled by us but a person could consult a doctor and get diagnosed early and get treated.
