500 Urban Welfare Centres to be set up throughout the State of Tamil Nadu: Chief Minister inaugurates today!

Tamil Nadu State Minister for Health, Ma. Subramanian, informed that Chief Minister M.K. Stalin will inaugurate the 500 Urban Welfare Centres set up throughout the state of Tamil Nadu.

The Tamil Nadu State Health Minister undertook an inspection visit to the Urban Welfare Centre set up on Vijayaraghava Road in Theagaraya Nagar, Chennai Metro City, yesterday (Sunday, 4th June).

Greater Chennai Corporation Mayor Priya, Deputy Mayor Mu. Mukesh Kumar, GCC Commissioner J. Radhakrishnan, the Secretary of the Department of Health of the State Government of Tamil Nadu, Gagandeep Singh Bedi, National Welfare Committee Director Shilpa Prabhakar Satish, and Thousand Light Legislative Constituency MLA Ezhilan participated.

After the inspection, Health Minister Ma. Subramanian shared:

"Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin announced in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly on the 7th of May 2022 that 708 Urban Welfare Centres will be set up throughout Tamil Nadu.

Accordingly, activities for setting up 708 Urban Welfare Centres are in progress through the National Urban Welfare Committee. In the first phase of this project, 140 Urban Welfare Centres under Greater Chennai Corporation, 50 in Coimbatore City Corporation, 46 in Madurai City Corporation, 25 in Trichy City Corporation, 25 in Salem City Corporation, 25 in Tirupur City Corporation, and 189 centres in other areas will be opened for public service tomorrow (Tuesday, 6th June), and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin will inaugurate them.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin will personally inaugurate the Urban Welfare Centre set up on Vijayaraghava Road in Theagaraya Nagar, Chennai Metro City. The remaining 499 Urban Welfare Centres will be inaugurated through a video conference.

One doctor, one nurse, one health analyst, and one health assistant will be appointed through the District Welfare Associations.

These Urban Welfare Centres will function from 8.00 AM to 12.00 Noon and from 4.00 PM to 8.00 PM!"
