Traffic Diversions and Culvert Construction Notice for EVR Salai (Poonamallee High Road)

The Greater Chennai Traffic Police (GCTP) have announced traffic diversions near EVR Salai (Poonamallee High Road) to facilitate the construction of a culvert by the Highways Department near the EVR Salai-Ritherdon Road junction. These traffic diversions will be in effect from 10 pm on Saturday, August 12, until 5 am on August 14.
During this period, vehicles approaching from Central on EVR Salai will not be permitted to proceed straight at the Gandhi Irwin Bridge Junction towards Dasprakash Junction. Instead, these vehicles will be redirected at the Gandhi Irwin Bridge Junction to follow this route: Gandhi Irwin Bridge - Gandhi Irwin Bridge (Top) Signal – Right turn – Gandhi Irwin Road – Udipi Point – Right turn – Dr. Nair Bridge – EVR Salai in order to reach their intended destination.
It`s important to note that there are no changes for vehicles coming from Dasprakash Junction (Incoming Traffic) headed towards Chennai Central.
