Chennai, along with several other areas in the city, has been receiving abundant rainfall since the early hours of Sunday. This downpour follows the prediction made by the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) on Saturday, citing a low-pressure circulation over the southeast regions. Over the next 24 hours, the city and its suburbs are expected to remain under cloudy skies, with intermittent spells of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in certain areas. The precipitation began as early as Saturday night and has been reported in numerous parts of Chennai, as well as Thiruvallur, Kanchipuram, and Chengalpattu districts.
