Some regions in Chennai experienced a gentle drizzle on the morning of Friday, thanks to the presence of an atmospheric subtropical circulation prevailing over the southwest Bay of Bengal, which has been affecting the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu. Notably, areas such as Egmore, Chennai Central, Purasawalkam, and Thoraipakkam witnessed a brief but consistent downpour.
A day earlier, on Thursday, the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) had issued forecasts indicating the likelihood of light to moderate rainfall in select parts of the city. The RMC also mentioned that the sky over Chennai and its suburbs is expected to remain partly cloudy over the course of the next 48 hours.
Stay tuned for further weather updates as the subtropical circulation continues to influence the local weather patterns in the region.
