Now, to reduce these crimes plus to take action against the suspects and to help the public and senior persons across Greater Chennai Police limits, 3 apps plus a programme were launched on Wednesday 24th January 2024. At a cost of Rs 1.81 cr, the integrated vehicle monitoring system or IVMS apps was launched to trace the missing vehicles and stolen vehicles within the limits of GCP. In the future, based on the requirements, 50 moving cameras would also be installed. Alert messages would be sent to the police personnel with the help of facility in the app once when it is detected the vehicle is a stolen or missing vehicle

Parunthu app:

The DGP launched Parunthu app which is an enhanced 14 hour monitoring platform that has facilities to record the details of history sheeters and non-history sheeted offenders maintained in 104 police stations in GCP jurisdiction. It must be noted that alert messages would be sent immediately to the senior police officers when the accused is remanded or when the accused files bail petition, when the accused is granted bail and when the accused is released from prison.

Nivaranam app:

Point is that the Nivaranam app would help to co-ordinate and monitor the complaints submitted by the public and facilitate monitoring status of those complaints. Expediting action on the delayed complaints would be possible with this app.

Bandham programme:

The Bandham programme was also launched by Mr. Shankar Jiwal yesterday. It is an initiative to help the senior persons above the age of 75 living alone or suffer from illness etc.

It is learnt that the details of senior citizens whose children reside in other districts or countries, those who do not have children and those who are deserted by their children would be collected.
