Inauguration of new Co-Optex Kolam outlet at Anna Salai in Chennai!!

On the busy Anna Salai in Chennai, a Co-Optex Kolam outlet has been built is known. Yesterday, deputy chief minister Mr. Udayanidhi Stalin inaugurated this outlet. This caught the attention of many. This Co-Optex Kolam outlet has been constructed at a cost of Rs 5.60 crores. Information is that the Tamil Nadu Handloom Weavers Co-Operative Society is also known as Co-Optex.

It is worthy to mention here that the Tamil Nadu`s Co-Optex Company sells best handloom varieties of silk as well as cotton varieties with traditional and latest designs to the people. Especially during the festival seasons, Co-Optex Company attracts many customers by releasing new design sarees etc.  In traditional and cotton varieties, Co-Optex has been introducing many valve added varieties and designs etc.

On the busy Anna Salai opposite to Kalaignar statue, Co-Optex Kolam outlet has been constructed at a cost of Rs 5.60 cr on an area of 8000 square feet. This building is 4 storeyed and has got lift and parking facilities etc. Information gathered is that the first, second and third floors are of 2100 sq ft each and the fourth floor is of 1700 sq ft of a total of 8000 sq ft. The deputy chief minister for TN inaugurated this new outlet and launched the Pongal festival discount sale.

During the Pongal festival season in 2024, handloom and silk varieties worth Rs 43.46 cr were sold through Co-Optex. For the upcoming Pongal festival season in 2025, a special target has been set at Rs 50 cr.  On the occasion of Pongal special sale, a discount of 30% is being given on all the silk and cotton varieties.

Other important persons who made their presence felt at the inauguration were Mr. R. Gandhi, Handloom and Textile minister, Mr. Sekar Babu, Hindu Religious and Charitable Trust minister, Chennai Mayor Priya, Co-Optex secretary Mr. Deepak Jacob, Deputy Mayor Mr. Mahesh Kumar and few others.
