The Chennai Metro Water Board announced that it will perform maintenance work at the 150 MLD Nemmeli desalination plant from May 24 to June 2, ahead of the southwest monsoon`s arrival in Kerala on May 31. As a result, drinking water will be supplied on alternate days to several areas in South Chennai and Tambaram.
Affected zones include Teynampet (zone 9), Adyar (zone 13), Perungudi (zone 14), and Shollinganallur (zone 15). Areas impacted include Mylapore, Triplicane, Besant Nagar, Mandaveli, Nandanam, Velachery, Neelankarai, Palavakkam, and Madipakkam.
Residents are advised to store adequate drinking water and can use the "Dial for Water" service on https://cmwssb.tn.gov.in for emergencies. For issues, contact area engineers at:
