A total of four flights were cancelled at Chennai International Airport on March 18 due to a shortage of passengers.
Among the affected flights was the British Airways service from London, which typically arrives in Chennai at 5:35 AM. The corresponding outbound flight, scheduled to depart for London at 7:45 AM, was also cancelled.
Additionally, Alliance Air’s Hyderabad-Chennai-Hyderabad service was called off. Airport authorities confirmed that these cancellations were due to low passenger demand and stated that affected passengers were informed in advance. Alternative travel arrangements were made to accommodate them.
Despite these measures, many passengers expressed frustration over the unexpected cancellations, particularly those traveling to London and Hyderabad.
