Thiruvannamalai Karthigai Deepam Festival - 2010

Kaarthigai Deepam is a festival of lights, celebrated in the Tamil month of Kaarthigai. It is celebrated on the full moon day of the Kaarthigai month which coincides with Krithikai star.
Festival that begins on November 9 ,2010 and ends with lighting of Maha Deepam on November 21,2010.
Bharani Deepam is the inaugural ritual of Karthigai Deepam and observed early morning on Karthikai Maha Deepam festival. Bharani Deepam 2010 date is November 21st. It is observed between 4 and 4.30 am on November 21st, 2010.
On the day, temples, homes and streets are decorated with traditional oil lamps. Special pujas and prayers are held in temples on the day.
