Southern Railway to conduct 2nd round of Pulse Polio Immunisation

Southern Railway is in full preparedness with plan to conduct 2nd round of Pulse Polio Immunisation from 22.2.2015 to 24.2.2015. All the Divisions and Units of the Medical Department in Southern Railway are geared up to administer polio drops to all the children below 5 years of Railway men and the travelling public for three days from 22.2.2015 to 24.2.2015, as a sequel to the 1st round held from 18.1.2015 to 20.1.2015.
Dr. T. Anjaiah, Chief Medical Director has planned 245 polio immunisation booths covering major railway stations, railway colonies, railway hospitals and railway health units. The service will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. in all major railway stations. Extensive measures have been planned to cover the children living in the outreach, slums and transit migrant camps on the sides of railway stations through mobile teams. St. John Ambulance Brigade & Scouts and Guides of Southern Railway will voluntarily assist the medial staff in this programme.
