Drinking Water Crisis in Chennai

Price of drinking water cans have increased to exorbitant ranges. Water purifiers are not working due to absence of power supply. This has given rise to a severe crisis situation for drinking water.
Hence, in most places across the city, drinking water need is catered to only by water cans. Making use of the increasing demand, the price of these drinking water cans has increased to exorbitant levels. The price has doubled; these cans were priced Rs 30 each, but are now sold for Rs 60. In a few places, they are also sold at Rs 70.
