A government official has said that fourteen companies will set up shop in the new aerospace hub that will come up. The Tamil Nadu government is developing such a hub in Sriperumbudur. The hub will span 300 acres.
Speaking at the annual regional meet of the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce Chennai, the official said, Around 14 companies would be setting up operations in this hub. The USP of this hub would be an advanced computing design centre. The focus of the aerospace hub is SME (small and medium enterprises) which specialise in avionics and electronics. Many such companies are located in Coimbatore and they supply to major carriers.
