Prices of vegetables come down in Chennai Koyambedu wholesale vegetable market

The prices of vegetables have come down in Koyambedu vegetable market.  Tomatoes and cabbages are sold for Rs.8 per kilo. Drumsticks are sold for Rs. 10.
 
For the last few days the prices of vegetables have come down at Koyambedu market. Last month the prices of beans, broad beans, drumsticks and Carrot were sold at a high price. Now the prices of these vegetables have also come down. Country vegetables like Brinjals, ladies fingers, water gourd and cluster beans are also sold at a low price.
 
Vegetable Market Association advisor V R Soundararajan said, This is the first time in the last 10 years, the prices of vegetables have come down. Vegetables are coming in large numbers. Daily vegetables are coming in 300 lorries. At the same time, the buying power of the people has become less. That is the reason the prices are coming down. This situation will continue till the second week of next month. After this there are chances for the prices to go high.
