Will the food festival at Vadapalani Metro Station attract customers?

Considered one of the most attractive features of the Chennai, Metro trains have been operating between Koyambedu and Alandur from the last year.

It proved to be hugely popular in the initial period. However, as the commuters found the cost of the tickets to be prohibitively high, the number of passengers started reducing.

So, the Metro Rail authorities have planned some new measures to win the customers back. As a part of the various initiatives, food festivals are planned to be conducted in the Metro Rail Stations.

A Metro Rail official explained that various facilities are being introduced to attract more commuters/passengers. Food festivals are planned to be conducted in the Metro stations. In the 1st stage, the first food festival will be conducted at the Vadapalani station.

The food festival would be from 4.00 PM till 9.00 PM on 3 days during the week – Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. 25 varieties of items would be sold. The prices will be reasonable. Depending on the popularity/success, this will be conducted in other stations as well.

The Metro Rail administration has announced that a play-park will be set up in the Vadapalani Metro station today (Friday, 27th May). This has been set up to win popularity of the children. The Metro administration has informed that the new facilities will be introduced in Ashok Nagar and Koyambedu Metro stations.
