Random numbers for MBBS and BDS courses announced

Random numbers for MBBS and BDS courses for the academic year 2016 - 2017  has been announced today.
 
There are about 20 government medical colleges and one dental college in the state. Applications were sold direct and as well as online from 26th May to 6th May. 26313 candidates have applied for these courses.
 
After the verification of the applications, the random numbers were released today at Chennai Kilpauk Medical Education Director’s office.
 
Counselling will be done on behalf of Tamil Nadu Government for 2853 vacant seats.
 
Merit list will be declared on June 17 and the first phase of counselling will be held from June 20 to 25. The second phase of counselling will be held from July 18
 
Counselling for students in the sports quota, those with disabilities and the children of ex-servicemen will be done on the first day. After this counselling for the general category will take place.
 
Random numbers are computer generated figures used for the purpose of allotting ranks to students with the parallel cut-off marks when their alternate subject marks, date of birth are also same. However, these numbers will not affect the ranking.
