Cut of marks for MBBS projected

Cut of marks for MBBS courses in the Chennai four medical colleges including Madras Medical College has been projected. Tamil Nadu MBBS and BDS counselling 2016 began on Monday morning at Tamil Nadu Government Multi Super Specialty Hospital on Anna Salai. Candidates filled 71 seats in the differently abled category, three in sports, and six in the quota for children of ex-servicemen.
Today the counselling for general categories has begun.The seats allotted for the above mentioned medical colleges are as follows:
- General category (OC) - 197
- Backward community - 158
- Backward community Muslim - 19
- Most Backward community - 126
- Scheduled caste - 96
- Scheduled Caste Arunthathiyar - 19
- Scheduled tribe - 6
On the whole 621 MBBS seats have been allotted to the four Chennai colleges.The cut off marks for each caste has been estimated as mentioned below:
- General category (OC) - 198.75
- Backward community - 198.50
- Backward community Muslim - 197.75
- Most backward community - 197.75
- Scheduled caste - 194.25
- Scheduled tribe - 193.00
