New e-governance platform introduced in 44 schools

Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) state directorate plans to introduce the new e-governance platform Shaala Darpan on a pilot basis in 44 model schools in the educationally backward districts. Under this scheme, bio-metric attendance system will be introduced in these schools.
Under this new e-governance platform, parents will get SMS alert after their wards swiped their cards for attendance. Apart from this parents will receive six different types of information through SMS to monitor their children`s academic performance. Besides the attendance, they get messages on homework, learning attainment, current lessons in the school and information about school competitions, exams, programmes and financial schemes like scholarships.
