51 percent of the questions in NEET was from +1 syllabus

It has been found in a survey conducted by academicians that 51.25 percent of the questions in NEET (National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test) are from the syllabus for +1 classes.

There are 65000 seats (MBBS) and 25000 seats (BDS) for admission to the graduate medical courses (MBBS and BDS) in the government and private medical colleges and the deemed universities throughout India.

For admission to the above medical courses in the academic year 2017-18, NEET was conducted on 7th May. CBSE conducted NEET in 1921 centres in 103 cities throughout India.

In Tamil Nadu state, NEET was conducted in over 80 centres in 8 cities – Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Salem, Trichy, Namakkal, Tirunelveli, and Vellore. 

Last year, NEET was conducted only in English, However, this year it was conducted in 10 languages - English, Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Gujarathi, Marathi, Odiya, Assamese, and Bengali.

The results of NEET are scheduled to be released on 8th June. In a survey conducted by the academicians, it is established that more questions in NEET have been chosen from the syllabus for +1 classes. Here is  a subject-wise and percentage-wise break-up of the questions taken from the +1 and +2 syllabus:

+1 Physics – 49, +2 Physics – 51, +1 Chemistry – 42, +2 Chemistry – 58, +1 Botany – 47, +2 Botany – 53, +1 Zoology – 67, +2 Zoology – 33.

This works out that 51.25 percent of the questions are from +1 syllabus and 48.75 percent of the questions are from the +2 syllabus.
