As Automation has been a huge success with the technology-shift scaring all the traditional jobs, upskilling has gained huge demand. So far, this year has observed the highest surge in the total number of IT professionals migrating towards machine learning, artificial intelligence, data sciences and business data analytics for honing their skills.

Even the ITITES sector is showing interest in honing skills of their in-house employees. According to McKinsey & Company report, in another 3-4 years, nearly half of the IT workforce will turn irrelevant if they don’t upskill themselves.

The co-founder and marketing head of Great Learning, Mr Hari Krishnan Nair said great learning can help reskilling employees, and there is triple times increase in enrolment in these programs. Those who hold 5 to 15 years of experience in IT sector and senior professionals are taking part. They hail from firms like Accenture, Capgemini, Mu Sigma, Well Fargo and CTS.

We name it scale to skill shift, explains Nair.  Recent months have observed reinvention in the sector itself. While at one end there is layoffs, the other end has people being hired in large numbers for analytics, big data, AI, IOT, and so on.
