The Tamil Nadu State government minister for School Education. K. A. Sengottaiyan has made an important announcement that the reduced marks for the +2 Public Examination and the marks scored in 11th Standard will not be considered.
The minister had informed that the marks scored in the 11th Standard will not be considered for the total assessment.
From the next academic year, it would be just sufficient with the marks scored in 12th standard for pursuing higher education.
Further, as well-known, the total marks for assessment for 12th Public Examinations has been reduced from 1200 to 600. There will not be any certificate integrating the marks obtained in the 11th and 12th Standards. They will be issued separately.
This decision has been taken following the general complaint put forward by the 11th Standard students that the lessons are rather tough, and also the observation that the mental tension builds-up during the preparation/writing of the 10th, 11th, and 12th Standard Public Examinations.
Accordingly, the Public Examinations will be conducted for 11th Standard. But, while pursuing higher education, the marks for the 11th standard Public Examination will not be considered.
