JACTO-GEO (Joint Action Committee of Tamil Nadu Teachers Organization-Government Employees Organization) have gone on an indefinite strike starting from January 22.
Their pleas include reversing contributory pension scheme, pay out the arrears as per Pay Commission recommendation, spike in salary for teachers handling secondary school to the range of salary drawn by central government counterparts.
Following a detailed discussion by the higher authorities, the JACTO-GEO protest has now come to an end after 9 long days.
So far, a total of 3,250 protest participants across Tamil Nadu have got suspended, said State Coordinator Subramanian. A total of 1200 individuals have got arrested in this regard, he adds.
