Students of Indian Institute of Technology Bombay have joined the students’ protest against war crimes in Sri Lanka. They follow the heels of their counterparts in IIT Madras and other colleges in Tamil Nadu. The students in Mumbai wore black bands to show solidarity. Reports say that they skipped meals, wore black badges and carried placards and posters around the campus. They have also collected over 400 signatures in a signature campaign. One of the students said that there will be a pan-India IIT protest sometime soon, and that they are closely following the student protests in Tamil Nadu.

This is the first institution outside Tamil Nadu to follow the lead of students protesting Sri Lankan war crimes against civilians during the war with the LTTE.
