Time extension for voters to check and verify personal data

A press notification from the Chennai Metro Corporation mentions:
‘As per the order of the Indian Election Commission, the task of the voters verifying whether their personal data in the voters’ list is ok has been in progress from the month of September.
Out of this, the Chennai District voters had been emphasized to verify y whether their personal data including name, date of birth, address, and photographs are ok.
The deadline for completing this task has been extended until 18th November.
In this situation, the voters who have failed so far to check can do so now by either using the mobile App ‘E V P’ or the internet by going online or directly visiting the voters’ centers set up in the zonal and ward offices under the jurisdiction of the corporation.
