Special Sandhai (Fair) for Pongal Festival!

For the grand occasion of the most important Tamil Nadu festival of Pongal, a special fair (‘Sandhai’) has been commenced at the Chennai Metro City Koyambedu wholesale market for vegetables, fruit and flowers.
On special occasions such as Pongal and Ayudha Pooja and other every year, a special is organised at Koyambedu wholesale market on behalf of the Koyambedu Market Administration Committee.
As such, the special fair for this year’s Pongal has commenced will continue until 16th January.
Last year, the fair was sold on auction at Rs. 10.30 Lakhs. This year, this auction jas been taken at Rs. 11.04 Lakhs.
In the fair, the citizens can get all the essential items required for Pongal Festival Celebration. This fair will be open day and night.
In this regard, the administration committee officials shared:
\The auction for this year’s Fair was conducted on 3rd January after fixing the auction amount at a higher value as compared to the previous year. The shops are set to open on Sunday (12th January).
